There are no set rules for Butterfly races. In this game, each player chooses a butterfly. A finish line is then agreed on---usually a flower or puddle at some distance. The fairy or sparrow man whose butterfly makes it to the finish line first is the winner. Of course, butterflies never fly in a straight line, nor do they pay any attention whatsoever to the cheers or encouragement of fairies. These willful creatures fly wherever they want, so the fairies must use clever tactics---such as casting shadows of large birds---to chase their butterflies toward the finish line.
